Cross-linguistic Literacy Development for Multilingual Learners
Projects are investigating the cognitive and linguistic skills that contribute to performance and development in reading and writing skills. We are interesting in understanding how skills developed in the first or second language can help us understand differences in important literacy outcomes, such as vocabulary knowledge, reading comprehension and written expression. Additionally, we are exploring how macro- and micro-level environmental, socio-cultural, psychological, and cognitive-linguistic factors interact in complex ways to influence performance and development in literacy skills.
